
Follow these simple steps to set up your live stream and enhance its quality with additional devices and settings.
Step 1: Set up your streaming space
Before starting your live stream, create a well-lit and organized space:
Use ambient lights like Philips Hue to enhance the background.
Set up a softbox for balanced lighting.
Mount your iPhone on a stable stand to keep the frame steady.
Step 2: Open Detail and access streaming settings
Open the Detail app on your iPhone or iPad.
Start a new project.
Tap on the Live Streaming button (top right corner)
Choose your preferred platforms:
YouTube
Twitch
LinkedIn
Instagram
Any RTMP-supported platform
Step 3: Connect your streaming keys
Retrieve the Stream Key from your chosen platform.
Paste the Stream Key into Detail’s streaming settings.
Select the correct server location (e.g. Amsterdam for European users).

Go to your Facebook page, group, or profile.

Step 4: Start your Live Stream
Once your settings are configured, press Go Live.
Expect a 10-15 second delay when using RTMP streaming.
You’re now live!
Your live stream will not record automatically, and if you want to record your live stream, you can tap the record button.
Enhance your stream with overlays and additional devices
Adding Overlays
Use Detail’s overlay feature to add graphics, text, or branding elements while you're live
Adjust overlay placement to keep your stream visually appealing.
Connecting another device for multi-camera streaming
Tap the + Person icon and invite your iPad or other iPhone to join the stream.
Mute the iPad / iPhone to prevent audio feedback.
Use the iPad or iPhone's selfie camera as an additional angle.
Connecting external devices
Use an iPad as a reference monitor.
Connect an external microphone for better audio quality.
Attach a USB camera via a powered hub for a second high-quality camera angle.
Adjust your layout
Select your preferred screen layout (e.g., a two-thirds primary view with a secondary camera angle).
Set up an overhead shot for demonstrations (e.g., cooking or tutorials).
Position a mobile camera for additional flexibility.
Using the teleprompter and draw tool
Teleprompter: Add a script to keep your presentation structured.
Drawing Tool: Annotate on-screen elements live.
Handling device disconnects
If a connected camera or microphone is unplugged, Detail will automatically switch back to the internal iPhone camera, ensuring your stream continues without interruption.
