Love the convenience of recording on your phone, but want more space and precision when it comes to editing? With the Detail app, you can start your video on your iPhone and finish it on your iPad—without juggling files or using external software.
Why switch to iPad for editing?
Editing on your iPad gives you:
More screen space: See more of your timeline and get a clearer view of your edits.
Better precision: Make detailed cuts and adjustments with greater control.
Pro tools: Use Apple Pencil for on-video annotations and keyboard shortcuts for faster workflows.
Portability + power: Enjoy a lightweight setup with a professional editing feel.
The Problem: editing on a small screen
Recording and editing on your iPhone is super convenient, but the limited screen real estate can make precise editing tricky.
If you’re a video creator, coach, or entrepreneur trying to publish fast, clean, engaging videos—editing on a small screen can slow you down.
That’s where the Detail Account feature comes in: seamless project sharing between your iPhone and iPad.
How to transfer projects from iPhone to iPad
There are two ways to move your video projects between devices:
Option 1: Use AirDrop (Fastest)
On your iPhone, long press your project in Detail.
Tap Storage > Show in Files.
This takes you to the project’s folder.
AirDrop the file to your iPad.
On your iPad, move the file into the Detail folder so the app recognizes it.
Open the Detail app on your iPad—and you’re ready to edit!
Why AirDrop?
Instant transfer
No internet required
Great for quick device-to-device moves
Option 2: Sync with iCloud (Automatic & Seamless)
On your iPhone, long press your project in Detail.
Tap Storage > Upload to iCloud.
On your iPad, open the Detail app.
Your project will automatically appear—just make sure iCloud Drive is enabled in your Detail settings.
Why iCloud?
Access your projects from anywhere
No manual transfers
Your work stays synced between devices
Final Step: Edit Like a Pro on iPad
Now that your project is transferred, just open Detail and start editing on the larger screen. You’ll enjoy:
A smoother editing experience
Easier navigation through your timeline
The option to draw, annotate, or finesse clips with more control
